The Sweffling Feel Good Book Club

Second Monday of the month |  7 pm – 9 pm |  Sweffling White Horse

A welcoming ‘inspire and uplift’ book club that initially followed the Samaritans’ Feel Good Book Club list but now selects books based on group suggestions.

Our book choices focus on inspiration and positivity, covering themes like overcoming adversity, self-healing, gratitude, and personal growth—books that help us see life from a fresh perspective.

How It Works

We gather around a big table in the cozy Sweffling White Horse, with a spotlight for reading, excellent drinks (soft & alcoholic), and hearty £6 one-pot meals for those short on time.

Can’t find the book? If it’s not in the library or on BorrowBox, we’re happy to share copies after we’ve finished reading.

Evening Schedule

7:00 pm – Social time (grab a drink, enjoy nibbles, and chat)
7:30 pm – A lively, open discussion about the book, ending with each person scoring it out of 10 (we record the group’s average below).
8:30 pm – Book nominations for next month, followed by a group decision.
9:00 pm – Close (some stay for more drinks, others head home).

Newcomers welcome—just come along and enjoy the conversation!
